Pakistan’s Power Sector Circular Debt – definitions, realities, impacts and solutions (Sept 2017)
Pakistan’s circular is not as easily defined as it appears to be in a single statement. The ADB project aimed to look into the definitions, realities, impact, and solutions in, and, the mammoth issues faced by the GoP in addressing the circular debt issue – within the various departments and institutions, the private sector independent power producers, distribution companies (DISCOs), and all the stakeholders in the energy sector. It closely examined the effect of subsidies on the budget and the hidden impacts of mismanaging the power sector.
